"DREAMWEAVERS"
LANG DULAY
A Filipino traditional weaver, a recipient of the National Living Treasures Award. Her works were exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. She is known for maintaining traditional motifs in T’nalak, a dyed fabric made from refined abaca fiber.
The reason why Lang Dulay is called the face of a group of master artists known as the Tboli “Dreamweavers” is because, when she was twelve, she had a dream about T'nalak cloth, which inspired her to create her first T’nalak cloth. (Philippine Daily Inquirer, 2015).
“I started dreaming of the designs when I was 12 years old. I kept on dreaming, so I wove even more… And I never forget my dreams.”
